Rates and booking
The studio is rented in two-hour minimum blocks. Rates below are what we quote when you ask; they are not a checkout page and nothing is charged from this site.
What a booking includes
Every block covers the shooting floor, the makeup and changing room, the ceiling-mounted lights, the modifiers, the C-stands and sandbags, and the use of the rolling cart. Wi-Fi and a small fridge are on site.
Backdrops in white, grey and black are hung and ready. Paper rolls in four colours sit on the rack; we replace a roll when it tears, not after each booking.
Two people from the studio are on the floor between 10:00 and 20:00. They set up and strike the ceiling lights, and they can help move the cyclorama cove if you need a different corner.
We do not supply a photographer, a stylist, a model or a retoucher. Those are separate trades and we will point you to people if you ask.
Rate table
| Block | Hours | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Short block | 2 hours | $185 |
| Half day | 5 hours | $410 |
| Full day | 10 hours | $720 |
| Weekday morning | 2 hours, start 10:00 | $165 |
| Extra hour | per hour over block | $78 |
| Outside hours | per hour, by arrangement | $96 |
Setup and strike time counts inside your block. We hold the room for 15 minutes before and after a booking at no charge. There is no deposit taken through this website; we confirm a booking by email and settle the balance on the day.
What we do not do
We do not rent lighting separately from the room, and we do not store equipment between bookings. We do not run photography courses or workshops, and we do not hire out cameras or lenses.
We cannot host anything that needs a City of Vancouver film permit, a liquor licence, or amplified music past 20:00. That covers parties, launches, DJ sets and multi-camera shoots with a generator.
We do not print, frame, retouch or deliver files. We do not sell photo products. For printing in Vancouver, the labs on West Broadway and the ones along Main Street near 7th handle that side of the work.
If you need a cyclorama larger than ours, or a space with a vehicle door, the studios east of Clark Drive are built for it.
